Packaging is a process parameter
The same 2.54mm header in a bag is for hand build; in a tube it feeds an inserter; on tape it feeds a pick-and-place. The wrong pack means bent pins, coplanarity fails or tarnish.
Four common packs

SMT needs moisture control
PA6T / LCP absorbs water. Tape reels usually ship in foil with desiccant under an MSL clock. Bake after overdue floor life or the insulator blisters in reflow and lifts leads.
Put it on the PO
State tube vs tape, quantity per pack, pin-1 orientation and whether foil vacuum is required. Do not mix two packs under one SKU.
