Dense is not the same as high-speed
Ejector plus IDC is a low-cost parallel bundle, not a PCIe connector. Use impedance-controlled parts for Gbps pairs. Ejector headers fit GPIO, UART, slow buses, fans and panel indicators.
Three pitches
| Pitch | Latch / handling | Electrical bias | Typical boards |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.54mm | Positive, durable latches | Best current and forgiveness | PLC, power supervision, general I/O |
| 2.00mm | Clearly smaller | Density/current compromise | Security mainboards, auxiliary comms |
| 1.27mm | Often short/fine latches | High-density small signals | Tight modules and subcards |
1.27mm punishes drill, placement and IDC tooling; a bent row is hard to repair in the field. Do not drop to 1.27mm for cosmetics. Derate and parallel power pins.
Junjia ejector families follow 2.00mm and 1.27mm series plus 2.54mm types. Put bit rate, current and service mating in the RFQ so high-speed pairs are not assigned to IDC by accident.
